The South African Motsepe wins CAF presidency by acclamation

Today, Friday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the victory of South African businessman Patrice Motsepe , president of the Mamelody Sundowns Football Club (south african league) , wenning the presidency of « CAF », succeeding Malagasy Ahmed Ahmed for a period of 4 years.

Motsepe won the seat of CAF president by acclamation during the 43rd session of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) General Assembly hosted in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, after the withdrawal of Ahmed Ould Yahya, president of the Mauritanian Football federation, Augustine Senghor, president of the Senegalese federation, and Jacques Anouma, president of the Ivorian federation.

The 59-year-old Motsepe became the seventh president in the history of Confederation of African Football « CAF ».
